Northampton Town
♂ Men'sMaroon & White (Home) / Black & White (Away)/ Orange & Purple Stripes (Third)
From the team’s formation in 1897 until 1994, Northampton Town played their home games at the County Ground, a stadium they shared with the town’s cricket club. It was decided in the mid-1990s that they needed their own space, so a purpose built ground was constructed in the Sixfields area of Northampton. The Cobblers have enjoyed a mixed history. Their major claim to fame is that they hold the record for the shortest amount of time needed to be promoted from the bottom tier of English football to the top tier and then back down again. It was a feat they achieved in just nine years, but doubtless a record they would prefer not to hold.
