Who writes for LeaguePages

Our writing is produced by named editorial desks, each focused on a specific area of the grassroots game. We use desk bylines (rather than ghostwriter-style invented personas) because the work is collaborative — researchers, sub-editors and contributing writers all touch each piece — and we think that's a more honest signal than a single fictional author.

You can read more about each desk on the blog index. We do not publish AI-generated articles under a human byline. Any drafting assistance from generative tools is reviewed and rewritten by a human editor before publication.

Where our data comes from

The structured data on LeaguePages — league tables, fixtures, results, squads and venue facts — is drawn from a combination of sources:

• Official county Football Association websites and FA Full-Time feeds.
• Club-managed pages where the club has claimed and verified its profile.
• Public match-day reports from non-league press and league websites.
• Open data sources for venue facts (capacity, surface, address).

Every match, table and statistic is recalculated from underlying records — we do not republish third-party tables wholesale. Where a single source is the canonical record (for example a county FA fixture list), we attribute it.

Player and venue imagery

Photographs on player profiles and venue pages are submitted by club managers and league officials through the Club Manager portal. We ask submitters to confirm they own the image or have permission to use it, and we will remove or replace any image promptly on request from the rights holder. See our Copyright & Takedown Policy for the formal process. We do not run automated photo scrapers against third-party agencies or news outlets.

News headlines and excerpts

On the news section we surface short headlines and excerpts from external football publications and club websites, each accompanied by a clear source label and an outbound link to the original article. We do this to help readers find non-league reporting in one place; we do not claim authorship of those stories. Each item links directly to the publisher.

Where we add commentary or context to a third-party story, that commentary is clearly written by our editorial desks and attributed as such. If you publish football journalism and you would prefer we did not display your headlines or excerpts, please see our Copyright & Takedown Policy.

Fact-checking and review

• Long-form articles (guides, blog) are reviewed by a second editor before publication.
• Numerical claims (founding dates, league positions, attendance figures) are checked against the underlying database record at publication time.
• Quotations are sourced from named, public statements (club websites, press conferences, official social channels). We do not paraphrase as a quotation.
• Where a story is developing and we cannot verify a claim, we say so explicitly in the article.

Corrections

If you spot a factual error — a wrong league position, a missing club, an out-of-date squad, a mis-spelt name — please tell us. The fastest routes are:

• The Feedback button visible on every public page (footer-right).
• The contact form with category "Incorrect data".
• Email hello@leaguepages.com with "Correction" in the subject line.

For data points (league standings, fixtures, squads) we update the record itself and recompute any derived statistics. For long-form articles we note material corrections at the foot of the piece with the date the correction was made.

We aim to action corrections to factual errors within two working days of receiving them. Updates to dynamic data (fixtures, results) usually flow through within hours.

Conflicts of interest

LeaguePages is independent. We accept advertising (via Google AdSense) and offer optional services to clubs and leagues, but commercial relationships do not influence our editorial coverage. Where a piece involves a club or league we have a commercial relationship with, we will say so in the article.

Sponsored or paid content

We do not currently accept sponsored articles or paid editorial. If that changes, sponsored content will be clearly labelled as such ("Sponsored" or "Paid partnership with [sponsor]") at the top of the article and excluded from feeds where it could be confused with editorial.

Generative AI

We may use generative tools to help with research, summarisation drafts, image alt-text or code, but every published article is read, edited and signed off by a human editor. We do not publish machine-generated content under a human byline.
